Description

The cultural school of Rättvik municipality has existed since the school year 1956/57.

We offer teaching in various subjects including dance, woodwinds, percussion, keyboard, brass, strings, and singing across many genres and in different ensembles. In recent years, the activities have expanded to include both dance and drama; since HT25 we are Rättvik's cultural school. Fiddle music and folk music hold a special place in Rättvik's cultural life. There is a rich tradition and a vibrant music scene where folk music has a natural place. Here, the cultural school plays an important role in carrying forward and developing Rättvik's music life.

Job Description

We are now looking for an engaged and creative violin teacher who can substitute for half-time (50%) during the school year 26/27. You will teach both with formal notation and by ear, both individually and in ensembles.

In the role of violin teacher, you will work together with the other staff at the cultural school. You will also continue to develop the established collaborations with the local folk music groups and the existing music scene. You have great opportunities to create an environment where your unique skills can shine.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a university degree in violin pedagogy with a focus on folk music or other education, artistic or pedagogical, that the employer assesses as equivalent.
• Has a burning interest in violin playing and pedagogy.
• Has the ability to create a safe, creative, and developing environment for students of all ages and levels.
• Is flexible and can adapt teaching to the needs and conditions of the students.
• Is responsible, communicative, and has an easy time collaborating with both colleagues and students.

Relevant work experience is an advantage. Since the teaching is conducted in Swedish, you need to have a good command of the Swedish language, and you also need to have a B driver's license. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities.
